Texts from strangers, sorted.
Riddance is a text filter for iPhone. When a text arrives from a number you don't know, iOS asks Riddance where it belongs. Texts from people go to Messages. You choose where codes and receipts, offers, and junk go.
Coming soon to the App StoreHow Riddance decides
-
Your keywords come first.
Add words or phrases to allow or restrict. A text with an allowed one goes to Messages; a text with a restricted one goes to Spam. Your lists stay on your iPhone.
-
Then the Riddance AI Service, if you turn it on.
iOS sends the text and the sender's number to the service, which says what kind of text it is: from a person, a code or receipt, an offer, or junk. Your name, your number and your contacts are never sent.
-
With the service off, nothing leaves your iPhone.
Only your keywords sort texts, and login codes go where codes and receipts go.
What Riddance never checks
Texts from your contacts and from people you've texted back. iOS doesn't pass them to any filter, so they arrive as they always have.
Fix a mistake
- Paste a text into Riddance and choose where texts like it go. Later texts like it follow, even when a name, link or code changes.
- Report junk from Messages: tap Delete under a text from an unknown sender, then Delete and Report Spam, and choose Spam.
Corrections and reports stay on your iPhone.
