Turn on Riddance

1. Open Settings and tap Apps.
2. Tap Messages, then Text Message Filter.
3. Choose Riddance.

iOS doesn't let apps open this setting for you.

Report junk with Riddance

To report texts to Riddance, make it the reporting app: Settings > Apps > Phone > SMS/Call Reporting, then choose Riddance. In Messages, tap Delete under a text from an unknown sender, then Delete and Report Spam, and choose Spam. Later texts like it go to Spam.

Common questions

A text went to the wrong place.

In Messages, press and hold the text and tap Copy. In Riddance, open Corrections, paste it, and choose where texts like it go.

Riddance didn't sort a text.

iOS only asks Riddance about senders you don't know. Texts from contacts, from people you've texted back, and from senders you've already moved out of Junk arrive without being checked. Once a conversation is in Junk, later texts from that sender stay there.

Filtering stopped after I reinstalled or updated.

Check Settings > Apps > Messages > Text Message Filter and make sure Riddance is still chosen.

Does Riddance work without the AI Service?

Yes. With Send texts to Riddance AI Service off, nothing leaves your iPhone: your keywords sort texts, and login codes go where codes and receipts go.

How do I delete my data?

Your keywords, corrections and reports live only on your iPhone; deleting the app deletes them. To have a text sent to the AI Service deleted, email us the sender's number and roughly when it arrived. We don't know who you are, so that's how we find it.
